Terms of service
Last updated 28 August 2026
Liyasa is a peer-to-peer marketplace for pre-loved South Asian & Muslim cultural occasion wear, operated by Orderstone Limited (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, listing an item or making a purchase you agree to these terms.
1. Our role
Items are sold by individual sellers, not by us. We provide the platform, arrange for funds to be held whilst an order is in progress, and arrange tracked delivery. The contract of sale for an item is between the buyer and the seller.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to buy or sell on Liyasa.
- Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, is used fraudulently, or repeatedly fails to honour sales.
3. Listing an item
- List only items you own and are legally entitled to sell. Counterfeits are not permitted.
- Describe condition, size and any faults honestly, and use your own photographs of the actual item.
- Once an item sells you must dispatch it promptly using the tracked label we provide.
4. Fees
Listing is free. When an item sells:
- Buyers pay the item price, a buyer protection fee of 6% of the item price, and tracked delivery. The delivery charge is calculated by size and weight, shown at checkout before you pay, and passed to the courier at cost with no markup.
- Sellers pay a completion fee deducted from their payout: £1.50 under £100, £5 from £100 to £300, £10 from £300 to £800, and £20 above £800.
- Every parcel is sent tracked and insured. We fund that cover out of the buyer protection fee and it is never deducted from the seller.
5. Payments and buyer protection
Payments are processed by Stripe. Funds are held and are not released to the seller until the buyer confirms receipt, or automatically 72 hours after delivery is recorded. If an item does not arrive, or arrives significantly not as described, contact us at hello@liyasa.co.uk before that window closes and we will pause the payout whilst we investigate.
6. Returns and cancellations
Because sellers are private individuals rather than traders, statutory distance-selling cancellation rights do not usually apply. Our buyer protection process covers items that do not arrive or that are significantly not as described. Buyers cannot return an item simply because it does not suit them.
7. Prohibited items and conduct
- No counterfeit, stolen, unsafe or unhygienic goods.
- No attempts to complete a sale off-platform to avoid fees. Doing so removes all buyer protection.
- No harassment, hate speech or discriminatory conduct towards other members.
8. Liability
We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, and to the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not responsible for the quality, legality or accuracy of items listed by sellers.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app, and the “last updated” date above will change.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Company information
Liyasa is a trading name of Orderstone Limited, a company registered in Scotland, company number SC879065, registered office International House, 38 Thistle Street, Edinburgh, EH2 1EN.
